Well, quickly, in bullet form:

- I defaulted on Nano. I am still going to finish writing my novel but it's just come to the point where it stresses me the fuck out to try and hit a word count every day and I felt tied to my computer and then I had to go to my mother's for Thanksgiving and had no internet so I am woefully behind and not writing 11k in one day solely to meet Nano requirements. I will finish this once I have a week or so to not write anything and relax. (I have over 30k, which is the longest thing I've ever written, so I'm calling it a success.)

- I need to do a TR SotP but the last time I did one was the night my father died and I just feel eerie and weird about writing one. I know it's stupid but it makes me upset whenever I try to write one and it's just not worth it.

- I have bought a quadrillion Christmas presents already and there's a tidy little pile of them but I haven't put a tree up yet. Oh, self.

You don't NEED to do a SotP, lovey, especially if it stresses you out. I only do one every few months. It's no biggie.

We probably should. When my head's less foggy we can certainly do that.

Seconding that there's no NEED to do a SotP - they're fun to read but in no way necessary when you're as good at answering email as you are :D

God, I have bought NO Christmas presents, yet.

I never do NaNo. I don't see how the one-size-fits-all of it would help me develop as a writer AT ALL. I've been seeing my finished-piece length limit ramp up by itself at a rate of 5-10k a year; it really is satisfying to cross each milestone, and I doubt that hothousing my brain into cranking out unedited textspew for a month would be as productive.

Also this.

I have to say I hate Nano because of the pressure we put upon ourselves to hit a word count, challenge yourself and write but not to the point it stresses you out. I'm so proud that you've hit over 30k that is like amazing and keep going! But don't feel like it's a pressure-y thing. Relax sweetie <3

Pffft ignore SOTP I will just email you and such. mostly it will be nonsensical and all in CAPS OMG NIKOLA HAD THE BEST IDEA EVER AND HELEN IS GOING TO HATE IT. Or asking if Nikola can dress his godchild in miniature suits and the like but you know do whatever feels best for you.

IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS EVE YET WHY IS YOUR TREE GOING UP? *IS A GRINCH* :p You are far more organised than me, pressie shopping has not even begun yet.

NaNo win! I'd call that a raving success. If you need some prodding or cheerleading to finish up let me know *g*
