Dragon*Con: Actual Report
Holy crap, what a week. I got to meet some of my favorite people in the world, though, so XD. I went to the con with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
technosage, silensy, kageygirl and meredevachon.
Thursday
Traffic was a nightmare and the only thing we did was go to a party at River's house.
Friday
We sort of got to the con late and the only thing we really did was go to the Sanctuary panel, which, if anyone is interested, is uploaded on YouTube. I didn't ask any questions and the only real things of note were the fact that Robin and Amanda were all over one another and Chris Heyerdahl (whom I was closest to, we were in the second row) sort of looked at me when I laughed so hard I snorted about something. Lol. There was a medical alert dog named Hunter (Golden Retriever) and Robin was obsessed with him. We've learned Robin likes shiny things. Met up withladyofbrileith shortly before that panel and sat with her.
Friday night was mostly just chillaxing and we also went to Fleming's and had the most delicious food ever.
Saturday
Woke up fuck all early to pick up my photo op tickets (I got Amanda and Chris Heyerdahl together, Robin by himself and Amanda by herself) and autograph tickets (Robin, Amanda and Chris). Felt like shit most of the day because my lupus was NOT fond of the hot hot hot weather and I twisted my ankle (still hurts). I ended up having an asthma attack and wound up on the third floor of the Hilton for about two hours withtechnosage and kageygirl. We saw Louis Ferreira from SGU defacing his own photo and we sort of snarked at him about how he was going to blame it on us and he said he totally would. He sort of bounced around a lot and his handler looked stressed. Things I learned: he is NOTHING like Colonel Young. And has a half-Canadian, half-Portuguese accent.
I also got to meet/talk with Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell who are both amazing in person. Mary McDonnell is one of the most intelligent, radiant women I've ever met. Tricia Helfer nearly blinded me with her hot and I wasn't even talking to her.
Had photo with Amanda and Chris that evening, felt SUPER sick the whole time but I kind of leaned on Chris Heyerdahl and didn't actually pass out. You can uh, tell I did this in the photo >.>. I got my first Robin Dunne autograph on Saturday, he made some snark on it about how it was his GQ face. He's super nice and kind of hilarious, not like Will really at all. He also doesn't really have personal space boundaries, Robin, and he kind of put his face right in my cleavage to read my badge because "Phyllis" is apparently hard to spell >.> He also said that Georgia is really, really hot. Poor fellow. Chris Heyerdahl sort of teased me about my accent when I was in line for Robin, which I found kind of funny. He's so awesome, I can't even.
Sunday
Autograph time, otra vez! I got my photo of me, Amanda and Chris signed by Amanda and Chris. Trufax, every time I was within ten feet of Amanda tapping I suddenly couldn't remember how to speak. She wore a lot of perfume too, actually, and so I was distracted by this cloud of vanilla. And, you know, how hot she is. She's super sweet and when I'd had my picture done with her she'd been talking to this little 5-6 year old girl who'd drawn her a picture and omg SO PRECIOUS. The little girl kissed her cheek and Amanda was all *cheers*. SO. PRECIOUS. I asked her about that when I got my autograph and she just gushed.
I met Chris Heyerdahl as well and he is really soft spoken (and I had Robin Dunne booming in my right ear when he was talking to Allie, lol.) but he told me I was very beautiful and that Jeff was very lucky to have me XD. I told him about how Jeff has Alistair's voice as his ringtone and it makes me break out in hives so Chris signed my autograph with that, I laughed a lot. Amanda just did kind of a generic thing.
kageygirl made us buttons that were a Twilight-joke, one says Team Sanguine Vampiris and the other says Team Hyper Accelerated Protean. Robin saw Allie wearing them and was all, "Oh, I get it, no Team Will because he's just NORMAL." We laughed a lot and then Allie had the idea to go have Team Will shirts made, including one for Robin himself that said "president" on it. He had another autograph session on Monday. I had my photo with him on Sunday night and he gave me the hugest hug in all the world and told me I looked lovely (it had started raining and my hair started curling and looking gross). We also saw David Blue when we were waiting on Robin (he...is not a punctual man) and he was precious and talked to us for a bit.
Monday
Monday, we picked up our photos with Robin to go get them signed and while Allie and the gang went to get our t-shirts,kageygirl and I had to distract Robin. There was nobody around, really, so we talked to him for a long time about music and how he was enjoying Atlanta, etc. He really liked my necklace and completely just leaned right over to look at it. He kept doing this to Allie too so we've decided he really just gets distracted by boobs.
He told me he was hella hungover on Sunday (which we had gathered) but that he was glad our photos with him turned out well. Allie brought the Team Will shirts and we all trounced out to change and God, the look on that man's face when he saw we'd made those things was priceless. He was beaming. We figured he'd just say, aww, awesome and hold the shirt up but he whipped his shirt off about a foot in front of my face (why hello there abs, thank you for showing up) and put the sucker on, then insisted on photos (we took them on my camera) and he had his handler take some on his cell phone. They haven't shown up on Twitter but I thought it was cool he wanted a picture too. He promised to bring Ryan Robbins and Jonathon Young the buttons Kagey had made.
He hugged us all about a million times and told us we were awesome and his handler came over later to tell us he was genuinely, truly happy and not just putting it on. D'aww. We went to have lunch and saw Sam Ferris (Ellen Harvelle) from Supernatural. She waved at us. I met up withanother_myself briefly and then it was to home!

God, this all sounds so awesome. I would be green with envy, except I'm pretty sure it's a good thing I wasn't there. (I don't do well with meeting people I fangirl. As in panic attackville.) I'm so glad you guys had great encounters, especially with Robin!
