Everybody's season 1 caps seem to be dark. Blast. I don't have the patience to go cap for myself either.

I don't think it can be helped, honestly :(

You can correct the dark some with duplicate background - screen layer set to anywhere from 75% to 100% and then put some color back in by adding a layer-new adjustment layer-hue/saturation-master saturation set to somewhere between 15 and 35.
